A kayak adventure down Laos’ longest inland river of Nam Ou, that intimately connects us to the river’s history and nature. Paddle through beautiful sceneries alongside towering limestone karsts. The river also brings us past local villages participating in artisanal trades like river weed gathering, fishing, gold panning, etc and visiting traditional villages of pottery, weaving, paper making, etc.
With our own power, we will paddle 3 days down the Nam Ou, and another 1 day on the Mekong river to Luang Prabang.
An UNESCO World Heritage Site, Luang Prabang has over 800 years of history,. It is exceptional for both its rich architectural and artistic heritage that reflects the fusion of Lao traditional urban architecture with that of the colonial era. Its remarkably well-preserved townscape reflects the alliance of these two distinct cultural traditions.
