Sungei Khatib Bongsu (SKB2)
SKB2 is a land of Giants. Everything here seems to grow on a larger scale, from the clams to the trees. The waterways and lagoons are confusing, and makes any sort of navigation difficult. Once inside, it is hard to know where and what. Access is difficult.
The alluring part of SKB2 lies in our curiosity to explore our almost forgotten natural river. Paddling underneath the hanging roots of an immense Fig, or the canopied creeks, one can’t help but wonder if ‘this swamp’ can be conserved for others to appreciate the richness of Singapore’s largest mangrove riverine habitat.
